Minimally invasive intracerebral endoscopic surgery
The latest developed minimally invasive intracerebral endoscopic surgery has been deployed to remove blood clots for the patients. Because the wound is small and the brain damage is minor, postoperative recovery of the hand and foot function has improved greatly compared with conventional surgery.
Over the past three years, China Medical University Hospital's stroke center has successfully treated more than 100 patients with cerebral hemorrhage by using minimally invasive intracerebral endoscopic surgery. After surgery, the patient's life is not only saved, but the sequelae are also significantly reduced than conventional surgery.
The minimally invasive intracerebral endoscopic surgery leaves only a 3cm wound, much smaller than conventional craniotomy with a 15cm wound. Moreover, due to its slight damage to the brain, the postoperative recovery of the hand and foot function has improved a lot than that of conventional surgery, so that patients not only are saved from cerebral hemorrhage but also recover their hand and foot function to get their life back on track.
