Urodynamic study is generally a safe procedure, but a few patients may experience the following side effects or complications due to minor abrasions of the urethra and bladder mucosa during the examination.

Side effects and complications

• Slight pain during urination
• Mild frequent urination
• Mild urgency to urinate
• Slight blood in the urine (hematuria)
• Urinary tract infection
• Vaginitis

Notes

• Drink plenty of fluids after the examination and take preventive medications as directed by your physician.
• If there is persistent severe hematuria or severe discomfort, please immediately return to the department of obstetrics and gynecology or emergency room for treatment.
