Foreword

Hysteroscopy examination can be divided into flexible and rigid types. Our hospital uses the flexible type, which is inserted into the uterine cavity to observe the inside of the uterus.

Purpose

The purpose of hysteroscopy examination is to evaluate abnormalities of the endometrium, including intrauterine adhesions, endometrial polyps, endometrial tumors, and the causes of abnormal endometrial bleeding.

Before the examination

Anesthesia is unnecessary; just fill out the consent form.

During the Examination

1. After sterilizing the vagina and cervix, the hysteroscope is inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterine cavity. saline or 5% glucose water is used to flush the uterine cavity so that the inside can be clearly observed.
2. During the procedure, patients may feel lower abdominal discomfort or a bloated sensation due to the flushing fluid.
3. The examination usually takes about 10 minutes.

After the examination

Do not panic if there is watery secretion because it is from saline or 5% glucose water used during the examination.
