Department Introduction
Urology
The Urology Division was established in 1982 under Surgery, with Dr. He Wei-zong as the first director. We expanded in 1986 and now have nine attending specialists under one director.
We provide the most comprehensive and humanistic treatment in central Taiwan for patients with prostate cancer and urothelial carcinoma (including bladder, ureter and renal pelvis cancer). Hundreds of patients undergo related surgery here every year.
We also provide safe, less bleeding and fast recovery treatment for benign prostatic hypertrophy patients. We were the first to introduce the green laser therapy machine in 2006 in central Taiwan, which has successfully treated hundreds of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
We were dedicated to kidney transplant surgery over the past decade. In collaboration with the Kidney Medical Center, we provide comprehensive care for patients with chronic renal failure before, during, and after surgery. In recent years, we started laparoscopic living donor kidney transplant procedure, which reduces postoperative pain, wound size and days of donor hospitalization (relatives or spouses).
We will continue to provide the best service – standardized, exquisite and humanistic.
We will increase our added value by exploring new medical techniques.
We serve people in local communities to expand our service.
We teach and train physicians in subspecialties and double-specialty.
We value basic and clinical research on urology, hoping to provide newer and better service.
