The composition of the
medical and nursing staffs forms the foundation of quality
care. CMUH has put together a strong team of physicians and
nurses trained in both Chinese and western medicine. In terms of western medicine, each attending physician holds certifications in medical specialty and most of them also have sub- specialty. In recent years, the hospital has been even more active in recruiting outstanding physicians from all specialties in order to improve the standards of medical care and to expand the scope of clinical service. In terms of traditional Chinese medicine, all of the Chinese medicine physicians have received both Chinese and western clinical trainings. CMUH has clinical departments of Chinese internal medicine ( includes Chest Clinic, Cardiovascular Clinic, Hepatology Clinic, Gastrointestinal Clinic, Renal Clinic, Urology Clinic, Metabolism Clinic, Rheumatology-Immunology Clinic, Hematology-Oncology Clinic, Dermatology Clinic, and other special diagnostic clinics.), Chinese gynecology, Chinese pediatrics, Chinese traumatology and acupuncture. The hospital has over one thousand registered nurses. The nursing staff provide not only basic clinical care, but also sophisticated care in the intensive care unit, emergency room and hemodialysis unit. The nursing department also renders services such as discharge planning, home care, and health education and consultation. |
